Moral Police of Social media

Festivals These days Bring Inn Not only Holidays & Cultural Celebrations,
but also a baggage of Moral policing especially over Social media & messaging apps precisely 2 to 3 days Before and During the Festive Day.

Moment the occasion ends - IT ALL STOPS !

*momentarily* Until the Next few days Before another fiesta.

On the annual Kite flying, season opener festival of Makar Sankranti We Are straightaway instructed NOT TO FLY Kites
- via slogans and forwards all over social media and Whatsapp.

The reason ; Flying Kites Injure or Kill birds. Several flying birds, mostly pigeons get trapped in threads (aka 'Maanjaa') which are used to Fly kites.

Hence, It is a completely clear NO NO to The Act itself,
Instead of putting a strict BAN on the use of artificial threads made out of glass coating.
- The Actual culprits behind bird injuries & deaths.

Neither are we suggested to Fly responsibly or care for the birds while Flying our kites,
nor simply asked to Fly kites in areas where there are lesser or No birds.

Nope. Just a direct - SAY NO TO KITES protest.

And the Best part Not a single person protesting has Any CLUE about the annual number of bird deaths - especially the ones happening quite frequently over airport runways
- where under unavoidable circumstances birds are sucked-crushed-killed & thrown mercilessly through the planes turbine engines.

SHOULD WE STOP FLYING AIRPLANES NOW ??

Holi. Yup you guessed it !

The SAVE WATER festival more than anything !

Droughts and famine conditions over a state Can be understood
- Why even celebrate it At all if You're So "Traumatized" by The way Holi is meant to be celebrated.

How about promoting slogans where we are Asked to Play sensibly - By using limited amount of Water,
Responsibly - By keeping in mind ; places where water scarcity is a major issue.

Surely This would Work way better Instead of Moral Policing TO PLAY DRY & SAVE WATER

- That too Only & only on the Day of Holi.
*Slow claps*

Having said that,
People who intentionally apply colors
or spray colored water
On the skins of stray animals
Must be severely punished.
Period.

Diwali.

My God ! Where should i even begin?!?!?

We've All got tens and hundreds of This Shit on our phones & social media.

Right from : SAY NO TO BURSTING CRACKERS !

- To LET'S CELEBRATE A NOISE FREE DIWALI.

- To SAVE PETS FROM LOUD NOISE,
   IT SCARES THEM..
 - Hence, SAY NO TO CRACKERS..

-To *The funniest of them All*

LET'S CELEBRATE
A POLLUTION FREE DIWALI.

Honestly, I Don't think we need to blame Diwali as far as current Pollution levels of Mumbai & Delhi are concerned. LOL.

Its the Same thing Every time ; Be it 9 nights of Navratri or 10 days of Ganesh Utsav..

When cell phones and social media are Not only bombarded by invitations & pictures,

But also with -
'SAVE THE ENVIRONMENT'
banners & Images moral patrolling over ;

- The size and height of the idols

- The make & material used for the idols

- Again No to Bursting crackers

- No to Playing loud music after 10 pm

*Regardless of the place, regardless of anybody complaining about it or Not*.

*probably THE MOST CLEVERLY MISUSED LAW*

- Oh and Suddenly people showing concerns for the Sea, the fishes & the environment.

It's indeed a good thing to care for our surroundings But I wish People showed such levels of concern throughout the year because then & Only then shall We see some Real Change.

Culprits Are Not only the ones creating such festival targeted moral enforcing forwards But even The people who share & forward it further on their social media - messaging groups Are equally responsible for moral policing.

Lekin waise bhi
'Sab Upar upar se baat karte hai.
Asli baat toh Koi karta hi nahi hai'

Meaning :
'everyone keeps talking over the top,
Nobody wants to confront the Real Deal'.

P.S : Once a moderately famous dialogue by Ranveer Singh from Dil Dhadakne Do.

Chalo ! Ab Hum Asli baat karte hai.

Let’s get down to The actual root of the problem.
It's The 10 letter word - We Indians still haven't managed to Do much about.

Population.

Let's Face it.
A small bunch of humans..
- known as 'The Government' - managing such larger groups of citizens is Not an Easy task in itself, especially the ones adding on a daily basis to the already overcrowded metropolitan cities.

Mumbai Today stands as the 4th most populous city in the world,

with a metro population of over 22 million .

*Well, Nothing to be Proud of given the conditions People survive in*

Delhi on the other hand is Next - The 5th most populous city in the world.

An uncontrolled growth of human population.
*The MAIN Root cause for several other issues*

Well, If That's the root of everything then logically speaking Today We Must Be
Promoting Safe sex and birth control HEAD ON right??

Nope. Instead We're doing The exact Opposite - Restricting vital TV commercials That spread necessary awareness and educate people, banning Theatrical / TV content which although marketed in the form of entertainment serves a much greater purpose.

Maybe We've forgotten the importance of empowering people with a sense of self responsibility,
which has instead given rise to Moral Policing.

Today We are a country where Moral policing exists right from telling Us How to or How Not to celebrate our own festivals, What one Must or Must Not wear in public & even How one must "Behave" publicly..

From Moral policing on food and drinks, to Moral policing on films & entertainment
- a country proudly celebrating
71 years of Independence,
yet rioting over a 200 year old battle - Divided by politics & religion.

This New year 2000 officially became an ADULT
It's High Time We Grow Up too.

What is Your take on moral policing?
How should one tackle it?
