Day of the Destroyers

1 st October 2017 Tiger Gate, Ballard Pier. Fort. High on Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk & much excited to simply experience our nation’s naval fleet;  I rushed myself to the prestigious celebrations of Navy week happening in Mumbai. I had no idea whatsoever as to exactly what I was going to see. No idea at all. We began by passing through a series of High security gates, and for a moment i thought we were the only ones to pay them a visit,  later did I realize there was very little public inside.  Of course, it was the 1 st day. And so we made our way pass security checks proving our identity as Indians as we produced our Adhars  *Yes only Indians allowed*  Following which We were strictly But politely asked to switch off our cell phones and put them inside those white opaque plastics they handed out to us.  Upon obliging I walked further until a guard asked me to hand over my phone, I did – He quickly sealed it and gave it back. *The t

The siren is like a super mermaid.  A mermaid with one tail is just plain old mermaid.  (Sorry, Ariel.) But a siren is often depicted with two tails . She might seem like an unusual choice for the face of a coffee company. But there's a pretty interesting backstory as to how and why the siren came to be.  It was 1971 and the founders had landed on the name Starbucks , inspired by Moby Dick. Next up : creating a logo. The three founders hired a consultant named Terry Heckler. Heckler carefully studied over Old marine books until he came up with a logo based on an Old 16th-century Norwegian woodcut of a twin-tailed mermaid. *The mysterious, nautical figure called to them, as sirens do. The mermaid was exotic. She was also topless.  At first, and despite some complaints, Starbucks just rolled with it.  As executive chairman   Howard Schultz later explained, "Bare breasted mermaid was supposed to be as seductive as the coffee
